Content policy

Last updated August 4, 2026

The Bangla version of this page is the authoritative one. The English is a translation for convenience; where the two differ, the Bangla governs.

These rules apply to reviews, replies, questions, answers, and photographs. They exist so that a reader can trust what they read here and a business is criticised fairly rather than falsely.

A review must be your own experience

Write about something that actually happened between you and that business. Do not write about a business you have not dealt with, do not review your own business or a competitor's, and do not repost someone else's experience as your own.

No paid or incentivised reviews

Do not offer, accept, or ask for money, discounts, free goods, or any other benefit in exchange for a review or for removing one. A business that organises reviews and a person who writes them to order are breaking the same rule.

What is never allowed

Threats, incitement to violence, and harassment. Attacks on someone's religion, ethnicity, gender, or origin. Content that sexualises a child. Someone else's personal information — a home address, a national identity number, a phone number, a photograph of a person who has not agreed to it. Content that impersonates another person or business.

Accuracy and opinion

You may say a meal was bad, a repair was overpriced, or staff were rude — those are your opinions and this platform exists for them. Do not state as fact something you know to be untrue about a business, and do not accuse someone of a crime as though it had been proven.

Photographs

Upload only photographs you took yourself, of what you are describing. Do not upload photographs of other customers or of staff without their agreement. We remove hidden location data from every photograph before storing it, but a photograph can still show more than you intend — look at what is in the frame before you upload it.

If you represent a business

You may reply to any review, publicly, under your business's name. Do not use the reply to publish a customer's personal details, and do not offer anything in exchange for a review being changed or withdrawn.

What happens when content breaks these rules

Content can be flagged by any reader, disputed by the business, or held automatically when our fraud checks find something. A person then decides. If content is removed, the author is told. There are two appeals here and no others: while our automated checks are holding content, its author can appeal that hold once; and once a formal dispute about a review has been decided, the review's author and the business it is about can each appeal that decision once. A different member of staff decides an appeal — never the person who made the first decision. A removal a member of staff made after a reader's report has no appeal route, and we would rather say so than imply one.

Every decision — including the automated ones — is recorded, and that record is what makes an appeal checkable wherever one is available. Counts of what we removed and why are published in our transparency report.

What this policy is not

This is our own house rule, not a statement of law. Content that we allow may still be unlawful, and content we remove may have been perfectly lawful. If you believe content about you is unlawful, use the takedown page rather than this policy.

Report content or send a legal notice

Brandsof.bd is not a law firm and gives no legal advice. These pages describe what our software does and what we commit to doing. They do not tell you what the law says about your situation. For that, speak to a Bangladeshi lawyer.

What we do not decide

We do not decide whether something someone wrote about you is true, defamatory, or unlawful. Only a court can decide that. What we do is receive what you send us, record it, put it in front of a person, tell the other side, decide whether our own rules or a legal obligation require us to remove the content, and keep a record of what we decided and why.
